FREEDOMTUFF™ FT-1590 HC ALIPHATIC POLYUREA
FREEDOMTUFF™ FT-6160 EPOXY PRIMER

Project description: Nothing worse than a listeria outbreak at a food processing plant. This is a concern for everyone in the industry! J BAR B FOODS is an industry leader in preventing them. One of the challenges they face at their sausage plants in Texas is condensation between rooms and chiller rooms. The condensation is a hotbed for listeria and other bacteria growth. The seams in the insulated metal panels and the porosity of block wall are breading grounds if not treated properly.

Application 1: for the food processing areas that are primarily block wall the concrete was prepared to CSP 4 – 6 and FT-6160 EPOXY PRIMER was applied in 2 coats at 5 – 7 mils each coat to adequately seal the pores and prevent pin holes in the polyurea. Next FT-1590 HC ALIPHATIC POLYUREA was sprayed at 60 mils.

Application 2: for the chiller rooms the insulated metal panels were water sanded to achieve a 4 – 6 mil profile. Next the FT-1590 HC ALIPHATIC POLYUREA was applied at 60 mils.
