Project description: In October 2017 West Hollywood Gateway Mall in Los Angeles needed to find a durable loading dock coating system to apply to the loading dock area which was leaking down to the occupied space below.

Application: West Hollywood Gateway houses arguably he most popular Target in the nation where celebrities frequent rubbing shoulders with tourist and young family. Other flagship stores include Best Buy and Bev Mo. These ultra-busy stores require a constant stream of deliveries and trash removal from the 48,000 sq.ft. loading dock which sits on top of occupied space. WHG turned to Freedom Chemical Corporation® and their GuardianDeck™ Vehicular System to waterproof the loading dock.

Results: The GuardianDeck™ was chosen for its proven durability for high traffic areas. Concrete was prepared and 10 mils of FT-6160 was applied with a light sand broadcast. FT-2190 Polyurea was applied at 64 mils and then covered with 24 mils of FT-4300 Polyurethane with a 20/40 aggregate broadcast. A double application of the FT-4300 with broadcast was added to Drive lanes and turn radiuses. FT-4000 Aliphatic Topcoat was applied at 16 mils to provide a color stable durable finish.
