Job Description:  Podium Deck Between Slab Waterproofing Over Existing Membrane and Planters

Products Used:
GUARDIAN-PD™
FREEDOMTUFF™ 2202 POLYUREA WITH GEOTEXTILE
FREEDOMTUFF™ 6160 PRIMER

Project Description:  Elevate at 5504 Harbor Blvd. in Costa Mesa, CA was being remolded to make the office building more modern and help bring in new tenants.  The exterior podium deck which is over parking and office space was leaking.  ADDITIONALLY, the remodel plans included adding more drains and green space to the ~35,000 sqft space.

Application:  the FreedomTuff™ 2202 polyurea and geotextile application was chosen to eliminate the need for removal of the existing membrane.  This saved the client time and money.  A 10 oz non-woven geotextile was used which had a barned side to help improve the coverage of the polyurea.  FreedomTuff™ 2202 Polyurea was applied at a rage of 5 gallons per 100 sqft (80 mils) over the geotextile up to parapet walls and the slab of the building.  FT-6160 Epoxy primer was used at 0.5 gallons per 100 sqft (8 mls) over the concrete parapets and slab and FreedomTuff™2202 was applied to the primer to secure the system including fabric in place.
