Project Description: In October 2019 Marshals & PetCo off Hollywood Blvd needed to waterproof a parking garage that was directly over their store including a .
Application: Marshals and PetCo at 5507 Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles is a high-volume store. Given the location all of the parking for this store is rooftop parking totaling 44,000 sqft. Marshals & PetCo turned to Freedom Chemical Corporation® and their GuardianDeck™ Vehicular System to waterproof the rooftop parking deck. The project was broken into 3 phases allowing the deck to stay open to traffic for the duration of the work.
Results: The GuardianDeck™ was chosen for its proven durability for high traffic areas. There was additional concerns of chemical resistance of the topcoat since there were a lot of animals in and out of the PetCo that would urinate coming and going from the store. Concrete was prepared and 10 mils of FT-6160 was applied with a light sand broadcast. FT-2190 Polyurea was applied at 48 mils and then covered with 20 mils of FT-4300 Polyurethane with a 20/40 aggregate broadcast. A double application of FT-4300 with broadcast was added to Drive lanes and turn radiuses. FT-4000 Aliphatic Topcoat was applied at 16 mils to provide a color stable durable and chemical resistant finish.
